Helen and Anita are both certified and registered Genetic Counsellors with the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA). We have both completed an undergraduate degree, and a Masters of Genetic Counselling through the University of Melbourne. We bring over 25 years of combined experience working in public genetic services in Melbourne and are lead genetic counsellors and unit managers at a tertiary hospital. Between us, we have supported thousands of individuals and families across a wide range of clinical areas.

Our aim is to make high-quality, timely genetic counselling accessible to everyone. We are known for our warm, empathetic approach and are committed to ensuring every client feels informed, supported, and heard throughout their journey.

We have extensive experience in reproductive and prenatal genetic counselling, cascade testing, pre-symptomatic (predictive) genetic testing, and adult and paediatric genetic counselling. We also have particular interests in prenatal genetics and neurogenetics.

We are dedicated members of the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors (ASGC), both volunteering on the Certification Committee to provide guidance to genetic counsellors as they progress their career. We provide clinical and reflective supervision to Genetic Counsellors, Masters of Genetic Counselling students, and Genetics Advanced Trainees. We are passionate about evidence-based care and are actively involved in genetic counselling research.

Our practice is also supported by a consultant neurologist/geneticist, ensuring timely access to expert advice and assistance in arranging appropriate genetic testing when needed.
